Rodin’s Thinking Man: The New Year is always a good time for reflection.
| A Word from Andy |
|
| Happy New Year, Everyone!
I always find the beginning of the year an interesting time; I, for one, do not like resolutions. You should be constantly monitoring the health of your business and market trends, as well as your own personal goals on a monthly basis. If you wait until the year end, it might be too late. Besides, if you only work on goals once a year, you’ll likely choose things you can’t achieve.
But this time of year, everyone is reflecting. And with the deep freeze here in the UK and elsewhere, it does make it hard not to sit down and do some thinking. About what I want out of the new year, and what I want out of my business.
I didn’t feel satisfied with that internal conversation. So, giving myself a dose of my own medicine, I went out and spoke to a few of our customers and ‘friends of the family’ to get their input on the 2010 plan.
It’s resulted in a few changes to TOP that you should know about:
- Different People like Different Media. We’ll be launching a podcast this year, called TOP Radio. Once a month we’ll have an hour-long call about topics that I see as pertinent to the industry. They’ll be towards of the end of the month, and information will be posted on our articles section (as well as a new radio homepage on the site).
- Information Overload. I had feedback that sometimes it takes our community members the whole month to get through a newsletter and all the articles. So, we’ll be dialling down the amount of information. We’ll keep article updates to 2-3 times a week, maximum. That also helps myself and the team focus on even higher quality.
- Keep the Guides coming. Everyone loves the guides programme, so we’ll continue on with our efforts our expansion of both free and premium resources.
I hope those changes sound good to you as they certainly sound exciting to me. Here’s to best wishes to your business success in 2010. May health, wealth, and happiness continue to find you.
